Fleas, Mosquitos, and Weather.

by Azreel | June 23rd, 2007

We’ve gotten the WORST flea infestation this year. The combination of a milder winter and an extremely wet and mild spring and summer have led to the worst fleas I’ve ever seen.

These are no ordinary fleas – these are SUPER fleas. The dogs are miserable, and nothing seems to be helping. Usually, one dose of Advantage is sufficient for the entire year. This year, they’ve gotten Advantage, Frontline, Dips, Baths, and Sprays – NOTHING is working.

It’s even more frustrating for the ferrets, as most of the solutions for dogs and cats aren’t safe for ferrets.

Espresso was itching so bad that we took him to the vet to find a solution, but they just recommended more Frontline, which hasn’t helped yet.

Anyone have any ideas? Aside from shaving all the animals that is…. which while I’m inclined to do so, and it would look really funny, just isn’t a viable solution.

Edit:Oh yeah – mosquitos are really bad too, but they only bother dreamdesire and not me or the dogs.
