The thirty six employees were fired and replaced with black employees immediately after Eddie Jordon took over as New Orleans’ first black District Attorney in 2003. While Eddie Jordon was not found to be personally liable, the District Attorney’s office which has already paid $300,000 will pay another $300,000. The city of New Orleans is paying another $1.1 million, and the state of Louisiana $1.6 million.
Jordan resigned last week.
